Lavishly illustrated with commissioned photography and previously unpublished archive material, the book is written by the worlds leading experts including the director of the site, Maria delMar Villafranca, and with contributions from architectural historian William Curtis and Alvaro Siza, the Pritzker prize-winning designer of a new garden at the Alhambra, which will be described here for the first time.

Maria del Mar Villafranca was Director of the board of trustees for the Alhambra between 2004 and 2015.
