Product Information

According to previously unpublished statements by his parents, Rainer W. Schlegelmilch was conceived on the back seat of their Mercedes Benz 170V. Rainer opened his own photography and design studio in Frankfurt in 1964. Even back then, he took pictures at Formula 1 and prototype races in addition to his regular work in advertising, and he soon found himself under the spell of automobile technology and design. Hartmut Lehbrink has authored many books about automobiles and racing. Watching the Silver Arrows race in Spa, Zandvoort and at the Nurburgring had an enormous impact on him, leading him eventually to Mercedes. Renowned motor-sport journalist and devoted fan of the sport racing scene, Jochen von Osterroth provided the drawings for this book.
